	to leave word란 「말을 남기다」라는 표현으로 주로 「전화로 용건을 남기는 것」을 의미한다. 예를 들어 「용건을 남기시겠습니까?」는 Would you like to leave word?하면 되고 「용건을 남기고 싶은데요」는 I'd like to leave word with you하면 된다. 참고로 비슷한 형태의 문장으로 to have a word with someone이라는 표현이 있는데 해석은 위의 표현과는 틀리다. 예를 들어 I'd like to have word with you하면 「할 말이 있습니다」라는 뜻으로 「무엇을 의논하고 싶다거나 따질게 있다」라는 뉘앙스가 있는 문장 표현이다. ▶ transfer「옮기다」
