if you have been describing bad things which happened, and then say that to top it all something else happened, you mean that the final thing was even worse.

(안좋은 일을 기술할때 '그리고 그일에 덧붙혀서 무슨일이 일어났다'고 말하는 것은

마지막에 일어난 일은 더욱 악화된 상황이었음을 의미하는 것이다.)

 

The washing machine flooded, my car broke down, then to top it all I locked myself out of the house.(세탁기는 물이 넘쳐 흐르고  차는 고장났고, 게다가 집문까지 잠겨져 버렸다.)

1. and the worst thing is.(게다가 더욱 나쁜[안 좋은]것은, 더 최악인 것은)

 Students get to meet the world's top scientists and researchers, and to top it off, the conference is free.(학생들은 세계최고의  과학자와 연구원들을 만나게 되어 있는데, 거기다  더욱 좋은 일은  그 학술회의가 무료관람이라는 것이다.)
