1. hear

hear about/ of는 다른 사람이나 사물에 대한 정보를 얻을 때 사용합니다.

ex) I heard about/of this restaurant through Pam.

      You don't often hear about/of people with cholera in Britain.

hear about 는 다른 사람이나 사물에 대해서 말하는 것을 통해 듣는 것입니다.

ex) Have you heard about jan's accident?

      Did you hear about the match? I won!

hear of는 ~의 존재에 대해 알고 있는지 없는지에 대해 나타냅니다.

ex) You must have heard of the Amsterdam flower market. It's famous.

      It was a book by an author I'd never heard of.

won't hear of 는 ~을 들으려 하지 않는다 라는 뜻으로 ~를 거부하다 안 들으려 한다는 뜻입니다.

ex) I want to repay Jim the money I owe him, but he won't hear of it.

hear from 은 통신 수단을 통해서 누구누구의 소식을 듣는다 라는 뜻입니다.

ex) I heard from Pauline recently. She told me she' moving back to Greece.

      When did you last hear from Don?

2. laugh

laugh at은 사람을 창피하게 만드는 것입니다. 비웃다라는 뜻입니다. laugh about는 과거의 어떤 즐거운 일을 생각하고 웃는다 다른 뜻입니다.

ex) We spent a happy couple of hours laughing at photos from the party.

      The programme was so funny! We laugh about it every time we think of it.

laugh at은 주로 한 사람이 다른 한 사람의 웃음 거리나 비아냥 거리가 될 때 많이 사용합니다. laugh about는 이런 용도로 잘 사용하진 않습니다.

ex) When she fell off her chair, all her friends laughed at her and she started to cry.

3. agree

agree with 는 두 사람이 같은 생각을 가지고 있다 혹은 어떤 생각이나 행동에 대해 승인한

다. 인정한다 또는 먼가 기분 좋게 만드는 것을 말하는 것등을 뜻합니다.

ex) Adam thinks we should accept the offer, and I agree with him.

      I agree with letting children choose the clothes they want to wear.

      Tom's story agreed with that of his son.

      Being on holiday agrees with me. I feel great.

agree to 는 어떤 것이 발생하게끔 누군가가 하도록 하게끔 허락하는것 그리고 누군가가 무엇인가를 할 준비가 되었음을 나타냅니다.

ex) once the government agreed to the scheme it went ahead without delay.

      He agreed to the idea of a barbecue on condition that he could do the cooking.

agree on은 두 사람 이상이 먼가를 결정했다는 뜻을 나타냅니다.

ex) We agreed on a time and place to meet.

agree about 는 사람들이 특정한 주제에 대해서 같은 의견을 가지고 있다는 점을 나타냅니다. 만약 그 결정권이 다른 사람의 의견에 따른다면 agree on 이나 agree about를 사용할 수 있습니다.

ex) Something that everyone can agree about is that we all want to be happy.

      We couldn't agree on/about the colour to paint the kitchen.
